Green River Melon Days

This past weekend Breed, I, and the kids, oh and, my mom and dad of course, went to Melon Days in Green River. It was so fun. We had our whole Co-ed softball team come out for the big all night softball tournament they had going on there. We also had a couple of friends come up from St. George to play in it with us. We had such a blast. They probably go through thousands of watermelons through the course of just two days. There are so many people that come from all over to attend melon days. What we didn't realize is that when you enter a softball "tournament" you had better be prepared to play "tournament" ball. The majority of the girls that were playing ball were like 180-250lbs girls. It was crazy. There were teams from all over Utah playing in it. It was a blast!
Green River is not very big at all. I had never been there, so I didn't really know what to expect. It reminded me of that town, if you have ever seen the Wild Hog movie, is that little town that is in that movie. They also had some Karoke guy singing a lot of time, like the guy that was singing in that movie also. It was so funny!!!!
We went to the parade that they had there, and there was actually a guy on a microphone with only like two speakers telling everyone what was coming up next. Everyone could hear and understand him that was watching their parade, that is how small their main street is. The funny thing is, is that their parade was probably twice the size of ours and probably not even a fourth of the people. It was pretty cool.

These trees were in Indian Canyon. They were just barely starting to change color, so it was that awesome flourescent pink color.

This Sara Lee truck was in the parade and they were actually throwing loaves of bread to people. It was hilarious.
