Happy Halloween!

We had a blast as usual on this super fun holiday! It was a little chilly, but a lot warmer than the past Halloween night's we have had. Gage was a vampire, Sierra was a pig, Maddie was a flower fairy, and Carter was a puppy. They looked so cute! It seems this year Halloween went on all week long. From a bowling party, to the Fall Festival at school, to a second grade party, a preschool program, and then trick-or-treating. Even though we had so much fun, I am definitely glad it is over. However, everyone knows what is right around the corner now! (Christmas) EEK!

Halloween Party

On Saturday, Breed and I went to a Halloween party at the Elk's Lodge that a lot of our friends were hosting. We had such a blast. The party had a disco theme, so everyone got to dress up disco style! Breed was hilarious. He was getting his groove on the whole night, as was the majority of the people there. Here are just a few pics of the party!

Gage's Bowling Halloween Party

Gage is in bowling league for the first time this year. He loves it! They had a Halloween party this past Saturday and had everyone dress up for it. Here are just a few pics!

Sierra's Preschool Pics

Here are Sierra's preschool pictures that she had taken about three weeks ago. I absolutely love them. Mrs. Renee just took them herself and did a fabulous job!

Our Soother

Carter is really a sweet baby, and he doesn't often get into bad moods. However, when he does it seems like we can not do anything to calm him. We recently noticed that whenever we would show him our fish tank, he would automatically quit crying and watch the fish. Tonight he was a little cranky so we set his swing up right in front of the fish tank so he could watch the fish swim. It worked like a charm, and he soon after fell asleep swinging. Thank goodness!!

Parent Teacher Conference

Breed and I got to go and visit with Gage's teacher, Mrs. Henderson, tonight for parent teacher conference. I am very pleased to say that Gage is doing excellent in school. He is one of the top kids in his class academically, and is way above average in his NWEA testing. I am so proud of him. He does, however, have a very hard time sitting still and wants to play at times he shouldn't, but hey, what boys don't! Sometimes I feel bad for his teacher, but Mrs. Henderson totally gets him and tells me it's just a phase that he will grow out of at some point (we hope)! I think Gage can get a little bored sometimes though, because he can finish his assignments so fast, which is where I am sure the playing comes in. I am not going to worry to much, though, because I know he is doing great and that Mrs. Henderson can handle him.

I do, however, get to see first hand how Gage does in school. I am a room mother and I also go and help twice a month with centers in his class. I am very fortunate to have a husband with a flexible schedule to come and watch our other kids while I go and help. I really like to do this as much as I can, because before too long Gage will be out of elementary school and I won't be able to anymore. So, I really take advantage of it as much as I can.

Breed's Battle Wound

This is kind of a funny story, so I have to tell it. Read the story first then look at the pictures!

Breed's brother Rocky was in town for the deer hunt a couple of weeks ago, so Breed and Gage went along with him and his boys one morning up hunting. Gage had church class that morning and I didn't really want him to miss it, so I was getting ready to drive up to where they were hunting to pick him up. Well, as I was getting ready to leave Rocky calls and says I need to leave now, because Breed and cut his leg really bad. Not knowing how bad it was I hurried and grabbed the first aid kit, put the kids in the car, and left. I meet Breed and Rocky about half-way up to Diamond Mountain, and Breed just kind of stumbles out of the truck. He has a tourniquet wrapped around his leg, so now I am thinking that his "cut" his really bad. Breed gets in the car and we hurry and drive to the emergency room. Well, as we are driving he tells me he was trying to gut the deer or do something to the brisket, I don't know I am not a hunter, anyways, he thought the deer was a lot fatter than it was so he had the deer on his leg and went to stab it. The knife not only goes through the deer, but his leg as well. So, what he was trying to tell me was that he pretty much just stabbed his own leg with a knife (ouch)! Breed also went on to tell me how him and Rocky must have looked like they just came out of a huge war or something, because walking up the hill, Breed had his arm wrapped around Rocky's shoulders just dragging and drooling all over the place. He also had to stop at one point and get sick :)! Anyways, we get to the emergency room and as he's pulling his pant leg off, I prepare myself to see this huge self-inflicted stab wound that he just got done telling me so much about. And here is what I see:

So, as you can see, it is nOt qUiTe as bad as I thought it would be, well should I say, that he made it out to be. Granted, I am absolutely sure it hurt like heck, but I am glad it was only the size that it was. However, I think Breed was a little surprised of how big his wound only was. He probably wanted it to be a little bigger! :)
